At Good News IVF, the HSG test helps us understand if your uterus and fallopian tubes are clear and healthy—key information when planning fertility treatment. It’s a quick outpatient procedure performed by our experienced team.
HSG (Hysterosalpingography) is a specialized X-ray where a contrast dye is gently introduced into the uterus through the cervix. As the dye outlines the uterine cavity and tubes, X-ray images show whether the tubes are open and if the cavity is normal.
Scheduled after periods (before ovulation). A mild painkiller/antispasmodic may be advised. Procedure takes ~10–15 minutes.
2. ProcedureA thin catheter is placed through the cervix. Contrast dye is slowly injected while X-ray images are taken to visualize the uterus and tubes.
3. AftercareYou can go home the same day. Mild cramping/spotting can occur for a short time. Results and next steps are discussed promptly.
